Ingredient Spotlight: Organic Marshmallow Root

Soft, Gentle, and Traditionally Beloved
Marshmallow Root (Althaea officinalis) has been treasured for thousands of years across Europe, Western Asia, and Northern Africa. Traditionally, herbalists used the soft, fibrous root in preparations intended to soothe and comfort.¹
Marshmallow Root contains mucilage—a gel-like substance—that has been historically used to coat tissues and is still popular today in herbal wellness circles for its gentle nature.²
We include organic Marshmallow Root in our Throat Soothe Herbal Syrup to help bring a naturally soft, velvety texture to our blend.
Fun Fact:
The original marshmallow confections were made with marshmallow root extract before evolving into the treats we know today!
